Circuit Breaker Lockout & MCB Lockout

When working on a low-voltage installation, you do not always need to power down the entire panel. With a circuit breaker locking system (also known as MCB lockout) you lock one specific breaker so that colleagues elsewhere can continue working — without the risk that your circuit is accidentally switched back on.

How does an MCB lockout work?

The system clamps around the toggle switch of a circuit breaker and blocks it in the OFF position. You then place a LOTO padlock through it, optionally with a warning tag. Result: one breaker is fully physically locked, while the rest of the installation remains available.

We offer two types:

  • Specific MCB lockout — fits the most common circuit breakers (Schneider, ABB, Hager, Eaton). Firm fit, quick to apply.
  • Universal MCB lockout — works on almost any breaker regardless of brand. Needs slightly more space around the switch, but covers all situations.

For whom?

Mainly electricians and installation managers use this daily. The system is a required part of a NEN 3140-compliant working method for electrical installations and is used in industry, utilities, data centres and by energy and grid operators.
