Universal Lockout Cable Lockout System with Nylon Cable
A cable lockout system (cable lockout) is a flexible LOTO tool with which you lock isolation points that cannot be secured with an ordinary padlock — for example because they are too large, unusually shaped, or because you want to close off several points at once in a single action.
In short, how it works:
The system consists of a cable (steel cable with plastic coating) with a fixed eye at one end and at the other end an adjustable locking body with a hole for a padlock. You thread the cable through or around the parts to be locked, pull it tight, insert the loose end into the body and secure it with a LOTO padlock. As long as the padlock is in place, the cable cannot be pulled looser and everything stays secured.
The strength lies in its flexibility:
- Multiple isolation points at once — you can thread the cable through various switches, valves or levers and lock them together in the "off" position.
- Irregular or large objects — valves/shut-offs, gate handles, several fuses lying side by side, push buttons, or large handles that a standard lockout will not fit around.
- Adjustable length — you pull the cable exactly as tight as needed; excess length disappears into the body.

Which valves does this cable lockout fit?
The system is universally designed for handwheel valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, non-standard circuit breakers, and all lockout points where a fixed clamp will not fit. The flexible nylon cable (Ø 4,77 mm) fits through virtually any handwheel or opening, and locks by pulling the cable end back through the lock body and closing it with a padlock.
How long is the cable?
The standard cable is coiled onto the lock body for compact storage and can be unrolled to the desired length. The cable itself has enough length to lock large valves or several components at the same time. The cable is replaceable — you can swap it out when it is worn.
Can I attach several padlocks at the same time?
Yes, the lock body has room for up to 4 LOTO padlocks — handy for team lockout situations where several technicians personally work on the same valve. For larger groups, combine this cable lockout with a lockbox.
